Increased Obstacle Detection Ability
The Circular Scanning Millimeter-Wave Radar or CSM enhances the M300's safety systems even further, allowing the aircraft to detect obstacles up to 98 feet away, as well as covering the Matrice 300/350's detection blind spots. In addition to its long detection range, the CSM also allows pilots to detect smaller obstacles such as thin branches, powerlines, and wires- objects the M300/M350's built in sensors aren't able to effectively register.
Alarms and Automated Braking
Operators can adjust the preset alarm distance to alert them whenever the M300/M350 gets too close to an object. Similarly, pilots can also change the preset obstacle braking distance that automatically stops the drone when it comes too close to an object. The CSM is an especially valuable asset in nighttime operations where the drone's built-in vision system is rendered ineffective.
